Oh Shoot Manual Assignment

Hello again!  I'm back to share a few photos I took for my manual assignment for Oh Shoot! Beginning Digital SLR Photography with Candice Stringham.  Manual as in using manual settings.  :-)

I used my favourite model, my daughter Olivia.  There are three photos that are straight out of the camera (SOOC) - that is, no editing (save for resizing for the web and adding my watermark), and after each photo I've added a version where I've used an action in Photoshop.  I've also got a Flickr gallery at the bottom in case you want to check out the other actions I played with.

Here goes!

Thanks for stopping by!  :-)

Gorjuss Dropped

I have a confession to make.

*looks around furtively*

I really like this card...

*blush*

When I finish a project, I generally only see the flaws.  I obsess about them, which is why it takes me so long to make anything!!

But, this card...

This card, I like.

I feel quite embarrassed saying that actually...

I've used four of my great loves... Gorjuss Stamps (this one is called Dropped), Prismacolor Pencils, Distress Inks and Button Twine.

*sigh*

And I'm entering it into these challenges:

Here's hoping that I can make something I really like again soon!  :-)

RCC22 - Alter It

This week at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge RCC22 we're altering spooled items!  You can scrunch it, sew it, pucker it, fold it, make flowers and embellishments with it!

This week we have the super fun Cosmo Cricket as our sponsor...

... and we were lucky enough to get some Glubers to play with! If you haven't come across Glubers before, they're super-sized super-sticky glue dots that are perfect for making flowers.  There are lots of tutorials online, some of my favourites can be found on YouTube HERE.

For one lucky participant, not only will you get your own Glubers….but you’ll also receive the Cosmo Cricket UPcycle Crafting Kit.

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings!
*** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

And here's my card for this week.  I used the luscious 1" Blue/Green Reversible Satin Stitched Edge Ribbon, so I wanted to make a flower that would highlight the two gorgeous colours.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

I'm also entering this card into these challenges:

Paper Sundaes #88 Anything Goes

Lily Pad Cards Simon Says Bling Challenge

Make sure you head over to the Ribbon Carousel to see the beautiful DT cards, and to link up to the challenge!

Creating Yourself CAS...

Last night I sat down to make a CAS card for the current One Layer Wednesday Challenge, which is to use a sentiment as the focus on a one layer CAS card.  But I couldn't decide which colour to use for my subtle background image... so I made four versions... ;-)  As you do!

Wild Honey

Bundled Sage

Faded Jeans

Victorian Velvet

LOVE this Unity sentiment!  Available from Craft-A-Lot.  :-)

I'm also entering these into a couple of other challenges:

OLW65 (As mentioned above)

Young Crafters Unite Challenge #2 - Envelope To Match (even though my envelopes aren't brilliantly photographed!)

Paper Sundaes #88 Anything Goes

Lily Pad Cards Simon Says Bling Challenge
