JAI49 - Just Add Summer

I'm not a Summer kind of person.  That's why I really like living in Tasmania!  The usual temperature in Summer here is around 20-25.  Beautiful!  So when it came time to do Just Add Summer, I was stumped.  Summer?  Ummm.... I settled on using summery colours.  :-)

It's quite different to the other DT entries...

And I'm proud to say my sponging is improving!  Small victories... ;-)

Materials:
Stamp sets - Greeting Card Kids
Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Watercolour paper
Inks - Versamark, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Blush Blossom, Blushing Bride
Accessories - Black embossing powder, heat tool, Aqua painter, Crochet trim, dimensionals, sponges

Christmas Poser

Hi there!  I have a few Christmas photos to share with you.  Before I get to the gorgeous shots, I have to share a couple of our cat Bronte from Christmas Eve.  Apparently he doesn't like the idea of leaving a glass of milk for Santa...

*shakes head*

On to the gorgeous photos!  I picked up a set of dress up shoes, complete with tiara and jewelry for Olivia for Christmas.  Best $20 I've spent!  After all, Diamonds are Plastic is a girls best friend!  She spent all day trying on shoes and declaring herself to be a princess.  And she's a natural in heels!  Within minutes she was running up and down the deck in all her finery... the large windows give great reflections.  :-)

And because she loves having her photo taken, (she's nothing like me in that regard!), I have lots of photos to share of "Princess Olivia".  :-)

No photo session with Olivia is complete without capturing some of her more... quirky poses...

*sigh*  Such a gorgeous kid.  :-)

Greeting Card Kids... And A Few Challenges...

Hello!  I hope you've had a fabulous Christmas!  We did.  :-)  I'll be posting a few photos of that soon.  But this post is all about a card I've made for a few challenges.  It's been nice to get back in the swing of creating just because.  :-)  I've used my latest favourite set, Greeting Card Kids.

I heat embossed this super cute image onto watercolour paper and coloured it using SU! inks and my Aqua painter.

A Little Stir Crazy...?

Hi there!

I have nothing crafty to share today, I've been busily working on top secret projects... ;-)  Need to know basis, you know how it is...

So I thought I'd amuse myself you all myself by posting some photos of my lovely cat, who seems to be going a little stir crazy now that he's an inside cat.  We've caught him asleep in the washing machine a lot recently!  No pics of that, but I do have pics of this... we've never caught him here before...

Just casually sitting in the kitchen sink...

And he's never done this before...

Of course, he doesn't like being mocked about the situation either.  This is his "What's your problem?" face...

Crazy cat...

Curtain Call Act 60 and TSG85 - Snowy Days

A quick card share tonight for the Curtain Call Colour Challenge {Act 60} and There She Goes TSG85- Use Your Stash

I found this one really challenging, and I'm not entirely sure that I like what I've come up with... ah well!  The stash I've used is this gorgeous retired DSP.  I love it!

I had to cheat a little and add a little blue and yellow to make the Christmas Tree look festive.  And it's the first time I've used my Nestibilities to sponge around the image (there's a great tutorial here). I think I went a little overboard...

Anyway... after spending far too much time on it, I figured I may as well post it!  :-)

Thanks for visiting!

Materials:
Stamp sets - Snowy Days (There She Goes)
Cardstock - White Cambric Linen, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Ski Slope DSP

Casing Amanda Reddicliffe

When I saw Amanda's Just Add Christmas card, my first thought was "I must case that!"  It's so gorgeous, and uses three elements that I just adore - Crumb Cake cardstock (the cardstock formerly known as Kraft), heat embossing and that scrumptious wide striped grosgrain ribbon.  Heavenly!

Here are my two versions (I had to play around because I don't have the sets Amanda used... they're now on my ever expanding wishlist!):

My bows aren't as good as Amanda's... *sniff*

Now... is it poor form to send someone a CASE of their card for Christmas??  ;-)

Materials:
Stamp sets - Contempo Christmas, Serene Snowflakes, Snowy Days (There She Goes)
Cardstock - Crumb Cake
Inks - Versamark, Black Stazon
Accessories - White embossing powder, heat tool, Red Riding Hood Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

Another CAS Christmas Card

Yep, I'm still making Christmas cards!!  So far, I've sent 2.  I'm pretty slack when it comes to actually sending cards!!

Obviously it's another CAS (clean and simple) card.  But that DSP is too gorgeous, I just had to make it the focus!

Materials:
Stamp sets - Contempo Christmas
Cardstock - Whisper White, Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP
Inks - Basic Black
Accessories - Real Red grosgrain ribbon

JAI47 - A Tricky Colour Combo

I found this week's Just Add Ink Colour Challenge really tough.  It was the Tempting Turquoise that threw me.  No matter what I tried, it just looked out of place.  So what I've ended up with is nothing like what I was going for...

Yep, another CAS card.  I commented to my hubby recently that if I keep it up with so many CAS cards, how long until I start photographing plain cardstock??  ;-)

Materials:
Stamp sets - Awash With Flowers
Cardstock - Naturals Ivory, Tempting Turquoise, Watercolour paper
Inks - Black Stazon, Riding Hood Red, Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey
Accessories - Daffodil Delight satin ribbon, red twine, Aqua painter, dimensionals

Although we don't have a white Christmas in Australia, I just couldn't resist making a card with this adorable image...

I followed a few different challenges to put it together.  Challenges are such a great starting point for making cards, they really are worth checking out.

And yes... more watercolouring...

Here are the challenges I followed:

That's it from me at the moment.  I hope your Christmas preparations are going well.  I can't believe it's so close!
