TAWS Be Inspired #10

Time for another TAWS Be Inspired Challenge!  The idea of the TAWS Be Inspired Challenges is to look at the photo and BE Inspired... Perhaps by the colours?  The patterns?  The theme?  Whatever inspires you when you look at this photo... remember to let us know how you were inspired too.  You must use one of the Alley Way Stamps but don't worry if you don't have any, you can find the freebies here.  Head to the TAWS blog to get all the details (including prizes!).

And here's what I came up with...

I used Jibber Jabber for the sentiment, LOVE that set!

Does the bow look familiar??

That's because I was trying to channel my inner Suzanne Dahlberg... you may remember this gorgeous card.  As soon as I saw Suzanne's stunning bow, I knew that I wouldn't rest until I could do one like it.  And so, it is because of this lovely lady that I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to perfect a bow that looked so casually (yet perfectly) tied.  *sigh*  ;-)

I'm entering this into the Colour Q #152 Challenge...

Flip Flop Happy - UnityTV

A couple of weeks ago this tutorial aired for UnityTV, and I thought it was about time I shared it here too!

I used the adorable Flip Flop Happy to create a background using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and Versamark on Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock.

Then I coloured a smaller panel with Prismacolor Pencils and added some sponging with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I'm really pleased with how it came out!

Some knotted twine finished off my card nicely.

And here's my video!

Make sure you check out the other fabulous tutorials on the UnityTV Channel, there's definitely something for everyone!

Got Some?

;-)

This is a sneak peek of one of the new sets about to be released from The Alley Way Stamps!  It's called Touchdown, and I just couldn't resist making this card with it.  The cardstock I've used is from the Bazzill Card Shoppe range, available from the Ribbon Carousel.

Head on over to the TAWS blog to check out the other sneak peeks and for a chance to win the new sets!

RetroSketches!

Hello!  I'm very excited to be playing along with the RetroSketches DT this week as a guest designer!  I love the sketches they have each week, they're always so user friendly.  :-)  And this week it's based on this card by little old me!  ;-)

And here's the sketch for this week...

How about a few close ups?  I just love this little puffer fish from the TAWS Castaways set, isn't he cute?!  I coloured him with Prismacolor Pencils on the best kraft card stock I've found.  And I've sponged a little Antique Linen Distress Ink to finish off the panel.

And my favourite Black Twill ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.  LOVE this stuff.

Head on over to the RetroSketches blog to see the fabulous DT creations and to link up yours!

Say It With Spots and Dots and Anything Round!

Hello!  This week at AnnaBelle Stamps we're Saying It With Spots and Dots and Anything Round!  I decided to take Shape It Up out for a bit more of a whirl, and I'm really pleased with the results!

I used masking to create the coloured circles with Distress Inks and the Ink Blending Tool, then I used white pigment ink to stamp the balloon over the masks.

I think masking would have to be my absolute favourite technique.  :-)

I'm entering this into the Moxie Fab Repetition Challenge.  They have some brilliant posts about card design this week.  It's well worth checking out!

Head to the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog to see the beautiful work from the Belles!
