Embossing With The Medallion Stamp

I've been quite surprised to get some comments and emails asking about how I embossed this card - but then I'm surprised that I'm not the only person looking at my blog!!  So I thought I'd post a few more details...

There are two ways to do the embossing, depending on what ink you have available. In Australia we don't have the SU! Craft Ink to emboss with (you can just put embossing powder directly over Craft Ink), so I had to use Versamark with Classic Ink.

There are two ways to do it with Versamark too. You can ink up the stamp with Versamark first, then add your colour and then stamp the image (followed by embossing powder). That's the easiest way, but I've found that it doesn't give much colour depth. The way I do it is to stamp the image first in Classic Ink, then use my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp directly on top with Versamark. Then add the embossing powder etc.

Also, if you're using multiple colours like I did, you really only have the option of applying the Versamark afterwards!  My recommendation is to try with a smaller stamp first, because I know I'd be a tiny bit frustrated to put all the work in with colouring the image only to stuff up the embossing on top!
I hope that's useful!
