Just Add Ink #10 - Colour Challenge

It's challenge time again at Just Add Ink, and this week it's a Colour Challenge:

Of course I wanted to play with some of the new goodies that arrived this week...  But I couldn't decide!  I ended up doing a few different things, so I'll have some more posts for this challenge over the week.  Here's my first creation, the one that is featured on Just Add Ink:

This technique is surprisingly easy to do.  All you need is your markers, (they're much easier to use for this than ink pads) and a spray bottle of water.

Colour your image, working from lightest to darkest colour so you don't stain your markers.  Hold your stamp away from you and spray with the water.  You'll need to figure out the ideal amount of water for you because all water spray bottles are different!  My bottle gives a good mist and I sprayed it about 4 times.  I also spray the water indirectly - so into the air above the stamp, and then I move the stamp into the mist of water.  I've found that helps to get an even coverage.  Then you stamp your image onto your cardstock, holding the stamp in place for a few seconds to make sure all the ink has been soaked up by the cardstock.  Easy!

So, what's the verdict??

Make sure you visit the other Design Team creations at Just Add Ink, and I look forward to seeing your entries!

  3. This is beautiful, Danielle! It's going to take all my strength NOT to use the gorgeous Medallion stamp for JAI10! Love your technique; I thought at first you must've sponged the colours on, but this is a great tip - must give it a try.
