I have no idea why that is! I still keep them because once it's dry you should be able to scrape it out. I tried this some months ...This is great Danielle. I tried this some months ago when you did it during SAB and really liked the result. I used the little plastic containers like yours and the next time I went to use my mixtures they had all dried out and no amount of adding to it got it smooth and useable again :o( So ended up throwing away and will start again next time I do this colouring.
