Just A Note - ISSC09

Scroll down or click here for my very first post as an Annabelle Stamps Belle!

I've taken a break from colouring this week for the iSpy Sketches Challenge, and let the focus fall on some gorgeous coordinating patterned papers...

The papers are from the Trimcraft New Leaf 6x6 Paper Pad from Craft-A-Lot, and the White Hemp Cord is from the Ribbon Carousel.  The sentiment is from Fanciful Flowers from AnnaBelle Stamps.  I really love the fonts in that set - I'm a complete sucker for gorgeous fonts!

And here's the sketch based on this card from Emily Keaton:

I'm also entering this into the following challenges:

My AnnaBelle Stamps Debut! ABSC048

I'm absolutely THRILLED to be able to announce that I'm joining the AnnaBelle Stamps Design Team!  If you haven't visited AnnaBelle Stamps before, you're in for a real treat.  :-)  It's an Australian owned stamp company who have their own range of clear photopolymer stamps, as well as a range of gorgeous embellishments, card stock and accessories.  And the AnnaBelle Stamps Design Team is so talented!  Make sure you check out the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog to see what I mean.  :-)

The challenges vary at AnnaBelle Stamps, and this week's challenge ABSC48 is a sketch:

And here's what I came up with...

I black embossed the pattern from Backgrounds By Design 2 and then used Kindyglitz Gem Clear to glue some Turquoise Sprinkles in the open circles of the pattern.  It's the first time I've used Kindyglitz to glue gems in place, and I love it!  I also black embossed the sentiment from Love Birds.

Another thing that I love about AnnaBelle Stamps is their fantastic new forum - Stamp Embellish Create.  It's a free online community sharing ideas, techniques, tutorials and projects...

Just a note - the challenges usually run for one week, but this one will be running for TWO weeks because of Easter next week.  I can't believe it's nearly Easter already!

I'm also entering this card in the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and a HUGE thank you to the AnnaBelle Stamps DT for such a warm welcome!

Bee Cool...

Hello!  I couldn't resist using the sweet bee from the Priceless Joy set by The Alley Way Stamps to make a card for the Retro Sketches #4 challenge.  And of course I had fun playing with the words from Chatterbox to make the perfect sentiment.  :-)

I watercoloured the bee with Distress Inks and Stains.  I'm really enjoying learning to watercolour with them!

And here are the challenges I'm entering:

Lulu Loves Poppies - ISSC08

Hello!  It's time for another iSpy Sketches Challenge, and this week's sketch is gorgeous.  My front panel is quite a bit larger than the sketch, but I really wanted to use this stamp I just got from Craft-A-Lot...

Her name is Lulu Loves Poppies from Stamping Bella.  I've got my eye on some of the other Stamping Bella stamps in stock at Craft-A-Lot at the moment too.  :-)  I watercoloured her using Distress Inks.

And here's the sketch based on this card from Brigit Edblom:

I'm also entering this card in the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #8 to use sewing or stitching.

Viva la Verve - March Week Two

Just popping in quickly to share my second card for this month's Viva la Verve! Challenges.  This one is for March Week 2, and matches the card I did for the first sketch.

Again, I've used the Words of Wisdom set, along with the My Minds Eye 6x6 Lost & Found Breeze from Craft-A-Lot.  I also used some White Hemp Cord from the Ribbon Carousel to finish it off.

And here's the March Week 2 sketch!

Thanks for visiting!  :-)

Edited to add:

These are the following weeks of the Verve Challenge.

Viva la Verve - March Week One

One of the sets I bought from Verve Stamps recently was Words of Wisdom.  How I love this set!  I adore inspirational quotes, and I love that this set has so many and that they all match.  Perfect for a set of cards.  So I thought this month I'd join in on the Viva la Verve! Challenges.  This one is for March Week 1.

I used one of my favourite paper packs at the moment from Craft-A-Lot My Minds Eye 6x6 Lost & Found Breeze.  I love how they coordinate so beautifully.  I'll definitely be getting some more My Minds Eye paper pads in the future!  I also used some 5/8" Ivory Cotton Twill Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.

And here's the March Week 1 sketch!

Thinking Of Hugs - ISSC07

Time for iSpy Challenge #07!  I was very excited to receive my stamps from The Alley Way Stamps yesterday.  They're such great quality stamps and so easy to work with.  I love how a lot of the sentiments are separated so you can make your own.  When I settled on using this little monster from Monster Mash, I thought he looked a bit cheeky, so I used words from Jibber Jabber to create my sentiment - "thinking of hugs".  Cute.  :-)

The papers are from the My Minds Eye 6x6 Lost & Found Breeze pack from Craft-A-Lot and I used some more of the White Hemp Cord from the Ribbon Carousel on the lower corner.  I love that stuff!  It's really sturdy, easy to work with, and my favourite... inexpensive!

And here's the sketch based on this card from Holly McMillan:

I'm also entering the TAWS Be Inspired Challenge #2...

So.  You're probably doing a double take right now wondering how on earth I managed to get a green monster card from this inspiration photo!  That's one of the things I love about the TAWS Challenge - it's all about what you get out of the inspiration photo.  I looked at it, jotted down the colours and worked with the green.  It evolved into something very different to what I had planned, but it's inspired by the photo nonetheless!

Speaking of interpretation, I love that the iSpy DT all have very different styles and come up with such different projects based on the same sketch.  Love it!  Head over to the iSpy Sketches Challenge blog to see their beautiful work.

And another one, why not?  :-)  Simon Says.... a BIT o' GREEN!

Jinxed... ISSC06

I think I jinxed myself.  Last week I commented that I was enjoying how my  iSpy Sketches cards have been turning out... but this week I can't decide if I like my finished card or not!  I frustrated myself completely while I was making it the other day, so I had to take a step back from the craft table for a while.  lol  Does anyone else do this??  I'm happy with all the elements, it just doesn't seem to gel...  Or maybe I've been looking at it for too long.  :-)

So here it is, even though it's late...

And here's the sketch (ISSC06) based on this card from Patter Cross.  It's so pretty!

I'm actually quite happy with the colouring - I watercoloured with Distress Inks and Stains.  LOVE these.  And the shadowing is an attempt to channel my inner Kim Teasdale - check out her tutorial HERE for how to do it. :-)

The gorgeous stamp I've used is from Love Birds by AnnaBelle Stamps.
