I'm Featured On The Create Blog!!

My craft space is, to be precise.  :-)

I was blown away when Wendy Sue Anderson from the team over at the Create Blog emailed me to ask if they could feature my craft space!  You can check out the feature HERE.

Have you been yet?  No, seriously.  I'll wait.  :-)

If you're a regular to my blog, you've probably seen my post on my craft space, but I've made a few extra storage additions recently that are on the Create post right now.

One item that you didn't see over on the Create blog is what's in the post on it's way to me...  One of the NEW Ribbon Carousels!  Head over to the Ribbon Carousel Blog to check out all the features and to enter the giveaway!  You can also enter on the Ribbon Carousel Facebook Page.  :-)

I'll be back soon to share some more info!  :-)

A Little More Masking...

Hello!  I have some more masking to share with you today.  These are a set of small gift cards that I made using masks and the negative of the mask.  I love how they turned out!

I couldn't manage to get a photo that fully captured the effect, but the white damask pattern (Vintage Wallpaper by Market Street Stamps) covers the entire card front.  So I took the mask off to add that section.  It's really quite pretty.

I've used two Distress Inks on each design.  I love how these inks work together!  I've found I get the best results by applying the lightest ink, then the darkest, then reapplying the lightest.

I'm entering these into the Market Street Stamps Block Party and I'm just in time to meet the deadline!

Thanks for visiting!

Masking #1 - Technique Video

Hello!  Remember that X-Press It Mask It film I've been raving about?  Well, I've got my first video tutorial on using it to share today.  :-) But first, here are the cards I made in the video...

A few details about X-Press It Mask It film - it's a low tack masking film that's transparent and reusable, and it has a handy grid on the backing sheet that's visible from both sides.  Perfect for placing dies to make your mask.  :-)

I hope you find this tutorial useful!  Thanks so much for visiting.  :-)

Oh. Em. Gee.

You know Kim Teasdale?  As in, Paper In The Works, colouring guru and general "I wanna be her when I grow up" kinda gal?

I got an email from her a couple of weeks ago.  A rather flattering email in which she announced that she's starting a new challenge blog and she'd seen my work, and she thought I'd be a perfect fit for the DT... would I be interested??

I wish I could tell you that I nonchalantly opened my email and read it with the cool-ness of someone... well... cool.

Alas, I cannot.

My jaw literally dropped and then I said... "HOLY  F&%$  KNUCKLE!"

Yep.  I am that cool.  I can't even use expletives in a cool way...

I wrote a hurried email in reply basically saying that I'd started speaking gibberish as soon as I read her email and that I've been blog stalking her for AGES...

There's that cool streak again.  ;-)

And of course I said YES.  She may live to regret the invitation...

All I have left to say squeal is this...

My name is on Kim's blog!
MY name is on KIM'S blog!
And I totally didn't put it there!

RCC37 - Non-Traditional Colors with Suzanne

I'm a little late posting this card for The Ribbon Carousel Challenge, because no matter what idea I had, I just couldn't get it to work!  And now that I've managed it, I can't get a good photo that shows all the details...  Argh!

The front panel with the heart is white embossed on white card and I then masked a heart and coloured it using Distress Inks.  And the bottom panel is dry embossed with a PTI Impressions Plate.  So it's CAS, but with some texture.  Not to mention the gorgeous Black Seam Binding from The Ribbon Carousel...

Check out the challenge post on The Ribbon Carousel Challenge blog for all the details on how you can double your chances of winning this week!

I'm also entering these challenges...

Thanks for stopping by!  :-)

I received my first order from Market Street Stamps a couple of days ago, and I'm SO impressed!  They're an excellent quality, the prices are awesome, and the designs are just gorgeous.  I'm sold!

I used 2 Market Street Stamps for this card, Vintage Wallpaper and Believing Butterfly.

I just love this quote!

RCC36 - Danielle's Go To Sketch

It's not my scheduled week to play with the Ribbon Carousel Challenge, but I've been wanting to try the Some Odd Girl stamps for a while so I couldn't resist!

This is the sketch that we're working with this week and you can see all the gorgeous DT samples here.

I've used a digi stamp called Roller Mae - she's so cute!  I coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils to match the Studio Calico papers I used.  And I finished the card off the card with some gorgeous 5/8 Natural Crochet Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.

I hope you join in the challenge!

RCC35 - Inspired By With Laurel

Hello!  I'm back with another challenge post for The Ribbon Carousel Challenge.  Laurel has challenged us with this Pinterest photo:

And this week we're being sponsored by Whimsie Doodles.  The DT were generously given some images to play with, and in addition to sponsoring our prize, Whimsie Doodles are offering you a 10% discount!  Head over to the RCC post to get the discount code and link up your creation.

And here's the card I made using this adorable phone digi stamp.  I printed it on white card stock and again on a piece of patterned paper from My Minds Eye Lost & Found Breeze, then paper pieced it together.  Then I went in with some Prismacolor Pencils and added some shading.  Some Scarab Vintage Seam Binding from The Ribbon Carousel finished it off perfectly.

I quite like how this card turned out.  Sadly, my CAS cards take FAR longer than it would seem to make!

Blush Babette

I've been itching to use this gorgeous stamp by The Greeting Farm.  Her name is Blush Babette and she's available from Craft-A-Lot.  I just love her hair!  The patterned paper is also from Craft-A-Lot and I really love the muted colours.

I coloured her using my Prismacolor pencils.  I think I'm finally getting the hang of colouring blonde hair!

And I used these challenges...

(This is the first time I've inked up this stamp)

Thanks for stopping by!  :-)

I Only Have Eyes For You... A Ladybug Variation

I was so pleased with how my first ladybug card turned out that I made a variation of it for my husband for our 6th Wedding Anniversary today.

I have a few other ideas up my sleeve using this free cute digi stamp from The Alley Way Stamps too.  Stay tuned!  ;-)

I used Microsoft Publisher to do the sentiment.  I think it's quite sweet actually!

I'm also going to enter this into these challenges...
